Reminds of the first time meeting my late, great grandfather-in-law.

He was already over 90 and in the hospital with pneumonia. As soon as I entered his hospital room, he got up to put on glasses and said: "I wear these just to seem well-educated."

Alas, the glasses looked a lot like these:


Absolutely cracked me up. Fortunately, he got over his pneumonia and hung on for a few more years, I loved the guy. Sharp wit and great sense of humour.
