The problem is that winning the league last season convinced them that they were good when in reality everyone else was just crap. They kept too many old players and inexplicably sold some of their younger talent and spent half a billion or thereabouts on 3 forwards. And they’ve been very lucky with some results this season. They won’t win it again.

It’s absolutely unreal and they do it all the time , they talk about ‘the tough years ‘ . They sacked hodgson in 12th and finished 6th .

Every other team has had their years out the spotlight but they’ve consistently been there or there about winning trophies . Anyone would love that but I’m convinced the last few seasons we had would have broken them . Never mind the decades before that

You can never write them off, I enjoy seeing them lose as much as anyone but they always come up smelling of roses.
The best we can hope for is they drop outside the CL places but even then football is that corrupt that they will change the rules to let them back in.

Easy. They just stop supporting them because for the vast majority there's no genuine connection to the club or city etc. They then overcompensate by trying to outdo each other on social media.

I think they'll be preferring if United come good again so they can revert to their Man United merchandise and pretend their rs days never happened. Otherwise they'll have to invest in some Arsenal or City tat.
