I see their willingness to throw £350k a week at 33 year olds has already come back to bite them on their arse with Konate, rightly, requesting a much higher salary on any new contract.

If van Dijk at his age is worth £350k a week, Konate should probably be looking at around £200k-250k a week as the second half of their defensive partnership.

If they give in to him, they'll then have Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott demanding £200k a week next summer when they've got a year left on their deals.

Let's hope they do an Everton and all their players end up leaving for free.
