ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The thing with Salah is that even with him scoring loads this season Liverpool will still only get about a 82/83 goal haul to win the title this season - currently on 72...which is low compared to what City have done scoring 90 odd per season.

They'll have to hope....

1/ Salah scores as many again next season
2/ they add another top goal scorer - unlikely any will sign up if Salah is getting a start every game
3/ hope that all the opposition were as hopeless as this season
4/ hope that Salah doesn't get a bad injury which will almost certainly end his career

I'd rather Salah didn't re-sign, but I think I'd have feared someone like Isak signing for them more.

Salah has obviously been great for them.

My main worry about both is that they will somehow manage to punt them for £200m upwards for both of them in a year.
Think that the plan and the deal they have made with them both, give us another year and we will sell.

Just gotta hope there are no takers for silly money, the age will go against them hopefully.

salah teasing everyone this season that he was going to leave liverpool

Salah rather than VVD, but even then what he would get next year is going to be a fraction of what they were offered last summer.

TBF I think this keeping them beyond the point where it makes economic sense is usually a marker of decline; when this happened with Mane and Firmino they were moved on and better replacements sought.
