I think the logic is that if they’re dropping 3 points instead of 2 the gap would have a better chance of closing. We need City to beat them and Arsenal to beat West Ham this weekend as a start.

Quite entertaining isn't it. They loved him when he came on for his clown cameos when the team was winning, willing to excuse his ineptitude in the false hope that he'll get it eventually. Now they're dropping points and they need him to do some finishing when he's brought on they're not finding him quite as entertaining.
