It was interesting that on Ref Watch yesterday they had the perfect opportunity to compare Pickford’s penalty incident with that of United’s Onana but swerved it by failing to discuss either. They did discuss 5 or 6 incidents in the RS game though.

It's a soft red but under the rules he has his studs up and catches the player on the shin.

I've not seen it so cant comment on that but when we get soft ones (Allan) then they never get rescinded.

No. But it shows how much of a mess the officiating and VAR is. Happened to Villa last season with Douglas Luiz. Goes to a 3 minute review only for it to be overturned a few days later.

How TF can you have a referee, a million cameras, different speeds, 2 other officials over seeing VAR get it wrong?

And then you have the Tomyassu incident Monday. But because it's 2 yellows you can't appeal even though the lad did nothing wrong.

It's made it worse not better

Let’s see if the league are consistent with this overturning of reds upon appeal for every teams, as I am sure there will be many more examples of these kind of tackles this season in many games.

I don’t disagree with you mate, but that can’t be used as a barometer to justify other clubs dubious red cards.

I agree, the incompetence of referees and var is ruining the game, but that’s not the fault of big red or macallister
