ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

100 % yeah, it's nothing to us, but for them it's a big thing, all part of the How To Be a super red hand book.
As kone why they don't like the monarchy and they couldn't actually tell you, they just follow blindly others who are just as mutant.
Some Liverpool fans claim you don't need to be from Liverpool to be a scouser.

"It's a way of life, an ethos."

They're absolutely mental.

Openly encouraged in their delusion by the media.

BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty reported that the vast majority of Liverpool supporters at a capacity Anfield observed a shorter period of silence impeccably, with one or two rogue shouts at the start of the tribute quickly shouted down before their fixture against Ajax.

So silences are considered “impeccably” observed at Anfield when all the shouting is shouted down?

That’s a lot of shouting for an impeccable silence.

He seems to be forgetting that they had to be told to behave themselves by Klopp, Hillsborough group, Dalglish, Souness, basically every ex player in the media begging them not to disgrace the club and then they come out with this sort of stuff when they just about manage to behave like every other set of fans for once.

This, it’s the same with this “f the tories, that they sing all the time now, don’t get
Me wrong I can’t stand the Conservative party myself but there’s no way that’s anything more than a “let’s show how scouse we are” bandwagon, most of them probably wouldn’t have the first clue about politics.

Can somebody shed some light here? Does Everton have an equal representation of anti-monarchist republicanism in their fanbase or is this more prominent for Liverpool FC? Since both clubs come from Liverpool.

I'd say there's as much, probably more anti-monarchy/anti-tory in the Everton support than in the Liverpool support. Considering we haven't got as many out of town supporters as them.

But we're not try hards and don't need to tell the world every passing day that we're proper scouse.

Although, I do think a lot of our support are confused in their hatred of Liverpool that we forget we're on the same side politically - Core fanbase, not club. Their club is deffo the establishment's club, to steal a phrase for Davek.

Yeah, I agree with this. When we played them in the FA Cup semi-final last season, what was really noticeable about their fans is how diverse they are. We didn't hear a single Scouse accent on Wembley Way or the London Underground. In fact, we didn't hear one all weekend. We did see them pulling up to the car park in Range Rovers and other nice cars. They all had the current home shirt, RRP £60. You've got to have good money to be a match-going fan at their club. So the idea that they're all working class Merseyside dockers is for the birds. It's completely fake political grandstanding to, as ever, show off how special they are.

Kete (from Slough) - The voices weren't even from outside the ground, I think they were inside the heads of all who are jealous of der mighty red men

R Maddock - yes I think you're right, its never our fault

One thing’s for sure after last night.

Liverpool FC love the monarchy.
Correct. The faux rebels shat it. 54,000 Kopites silent bar 4 or 5 drunks chanting 'Liverpool' before being angrily piped down by their fans, some of them with their hands on their hearts in deep thought.

It is what it is with that lot: cosplay.

*Against Modern Football*
*Twenty's Plenty*
*Eff the Tories*
*Boo the Royal Family*

All fraudulent stances when push comes to shove.

Formed by Tories, watched by Tories.

We're the Scouse club. It'll become more pronounced too when we're on the banks of the Mersey with the Fourth Grace.

Everton are Athletic Bilbao to Liverpool's Real Sociedad. The keepers of the Scouse flame.

Authentic versus Faux.
