ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Just when our stomachs havent churned enough, up pops Tony Cascarino in today's Times........

It’s early days, so I could end up looking silly for saying this, but Steven Gerrard appears to be the best head coach of the generation of top players he came from. In only four games with Aston Villa, he has succeeded in making his team an expression of his character and personality. Villa play the way he did — they get the ball forward quickly, and they are direct and energetic. It is a real skill to make a team a reflection of the way you are — the most obvious example of someone who has done that is Sir Alex Ferguson.

I’ve not met Steven but I know some people who know him well and they all say that he carries himself brilliantly. He is humble but he commands respect, and his players at Villa will know that he has a ruthless side. He’s not going to be doing knee slides or going crazy on the touchline, it’s all much more controlled than that, but equally he’s not there to be friends with his players. Villa fans should be excited about what they have, and I don’t expect him to be the sort of guy who has a bit of success and then gets political about trying to get a bigger job.
Hey, let's give credit where its due: Michael Beale is a very good coach

I don't know why them winning all 6 group games is cause for such celebration

Won't mean anything if they don't win the cup in the end
And somehow the media deemed it the group of death as well, saying they would struggle to qualify.

£18 million prize money for winning all 6 group games, Ajax will need that seeing as they only get around £30 million a year domestic tv money.

Perhaps you can tell us what is wrong with feeding beefburgers to swans; you feed a beefburger to a swan it is full of fat so it will float better!
If people can eat Pangolin ceviche drizzled with a little Bat jus, I see no reason why a Swan can't eat a beefburger.
Also of course kopites are indeed (naughty word).

It just means the whole competition is a farce.

That Liverpool team shouldn’t be winning 6 games and the fact that they did just reiterates how poor the standard is.

All English clubs are miles ahead of everyone else.

Based on what we seen, we’d have beaten all 3 of those sides and this is the worst Everton team we’ve had for some time IMO.

Our resident kopite tit, @EverTheOptimist , says it all, earning £18m for winning six games. Just goes to show thats what the rs are interested in, making money- wondered why Klopp always picks a strong side in dead rubbers

Its just typical RS luck that when they get a great side, Barca, Real Madrid , the Milans etc are all going through turbulent times.

Lille, Salzburg, Sevilla, Wolfsburg

How on earth is that a CL group? Unbelievable that two of those will be going into the latter stages. It’s honestly easier to make the latter stages of the CL than it is to qualify for it from the premier league. 80% of the teams are very average. The only threats to the English teams are each other, Bayern, and maybe PSG. Over two legs it will be very difficult for anyone else to put them out.
