ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Rarely does the established order remain the same over long periods. 10 years ago theyd nearly bankrupted themselves and were in the bottom 3. I mean they might be, but I'd suggest the sides with bigger financial backing are more likely to take the dominant positions.

You go back 15 years, and people would have scoffed at the idea Arsenal would he mid table. In life, things change.
How long were they in the bottom 3? Can't say I remember bth although I recall them having a crap time under Roy Hodgson. I don't think you understand what "big club" means. You're kidding yourself bro. I appreciate how quick things change but even back when they were garbage they were still the second 'biggest' club in the country.

Someone wash me.

I dont think anyone is saying they're not a big club. They are a big club and had a particularly enviable run of success between 50-30 years ago.

Tough isnt it? Digne, Richarlison, DCL. Maybe James? Hard to say really.

Allison
Digne
VVD
Mina/Godfrey
TAA
Henderson
Fabinho
James
Richarlison
DCL
Salah

Id say 5 for us 6 for them. We really need to invest in 3 or 4 key positions.

Yea I mean Firmino definitely better than Calvert Lewin. Good one that ;)

Give it 2 summers and we'll see how well theyve rebuilt their squad.

I know we're all hoping they desperately have a terrible season, but I just can't believe some of the guff on here. I'm American, so maybe I'm looking at this dispassionately as a Toffee abroad who doesn't live in the city, but come on. You can't seriously think they're on PEDs or that their entire club is going to collapse? Wishful thinking, I think.

We've done some sensible business this year bringing in Gray and good backup for Pickford, but just because they've only bought Konate it doesn't mean they're not going to strengthen. Their squad - much as it pains me - is still very good. They did finish 3rd, despite going on that awful run. I don't buy into this stuff about how they 'struggled' past Mainz or that team the other day. It's pre-season, that kinda thing happens. Do we really think we're going to breeze past whoever we end up playing in Florida? No, it'll be a slog. Because players are coming back to fitness.

And as for them not selling their prospects. Well no, they're not getting insane amounts like they were at one point, but they're doing OK in a COVID depressed market. Much better than we are, which is annoying because we should be doing better on that front. We have a good academy and apparently good people running it, yet we're unable to make these kind of profits on players.
Hiya blue friend, what are your thoughts on the presentation of data by means on endless graphs, net spend and alternative league tables?

Come on mate, you are not really trying.
