I've been in safe standing areas in Germany and its fine. Issue previously was the corruption at the turnstiles and clubs squeezing in as many fans as they could. Computerised tickets stop all that.
I totally agree. For me, there's still a massive misconception that safe standing is akin to the old terraces, when in reality the only comparison is you stand.
Depending on the stadium you go to, you can either have an allocated section to stand behind a rail seat or put into a specific block with strict measures.
If it ever came to England, it would the former where you'd stand at your seat - a specific position with a rail; if it was a European game, you'd sit at your seat.
Even the latter, which wouldn't happen here, it's not an open terrace: there are specific blocks that you enter in a controlled way through multiple checks.
For me, there is no real reason why we can't or shouldn't have it here in the UK if it's imposed correctly. Ticket prices are cheaper at the atmosphere is great.
In terms of safety, I feel as safe if not safer depending on the model.
