ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The more I think about this, the more I wonder is this City's revenge. Walk the other 5 off a cliff before they pull out their parachute and say "so-long suckers"

I'm not sure it will be as contrived as that, but what I would say, is you can't see any major loyalty from City to the current lot leaving. If there's a chance to row back it must be very tempting.

I hope so, but I can't see it to be honest.
I and all other City fans just cannot get our heads around why we have done it?
UEFA waged war with City on FFP for over five years. They just didn't want to defeat City,
they wanted to completely destroy them. Fine them millions of pounds. Ban them for years. Force the
top players to leave etc and they were directly led & encouraged by the owners of Liverpool & United.
City spent over £50m in legal fees to fend them off. And now we jump into bed with them!
It just doesn't make any sense at all. Why not just let them go and at a stroke become the good guys
of football? Undo all of the negativity toward the club by the media, press and football fans in general?
Even if City do bail out, it's way to late for any redemption. The damage is well and truly done.
We have talked about football killing itself for years but on Sunday for those six clubs, teams and fans it died.
If we win the league now, then so what? The Champions League - so what? Carabao Cup - who really gives
a toss about that that anyway? It's over. City had a truly golden opportunity to become the new poster boys
of professional football. Instead they chose the money. Unforgivable.

I know you probably don't like him but Gary Neville spoke a lot of sense about City on MNF last night. About the outstanding rehabilitation work they've done in Manchester for the community etc.

City will be more constrained by this than under UEFA. They will close the loopholes that existed before, and it's partly why they are doing it. Whereas under the PL/UEFA now, they will pretty much have free reign to do as they wish and probably establish themselves as the next Real Madrid.

I think City could be turned. But if they're not, I can't console you really mate, you will have lost your club. Absolutely no doubt about it. Within a decade you will only play a hndful games in Manchester.

Fan who supports there team with a view to tradition, being a member of the community etc. Essentially local support as opposed to the world wide fan base who at best are daytrippers but would usually be found around the world, sat in front of the TV, foam hand on with bucket of pop corn and club branded cola close by.

As ok, so basically just fans. Just ordinary fans they've given a stupid new name to.

Firstly, why is he now the emperor of footballers? Secondly, I think the captain of a club uninvolved in the Super League should be leading the call to arms.
I hate him as much as you mate but he shouldn't be knocked for this. Somebody had to do it, and nobody else seemed to be coming forward.
The players employed by these 6 clubs are EXACTLY the ones who need to voice their disapproval and then seek support from the players of the other clubs.

If sky don't televise it then the whole thing is dead in the water. They had the chance to distance themselves from it but came out with some lame statement about not being involved in any talks so far. If everyone cancels their sky subscription.or even threatens to.it ends

He's too reactive and emotional...and he isn't prepared to be as objective as Neville.

That's why you got hours worth of bluster out of him last night, whereas Neville (when he wasn't eulogising the "integrity" of the LFC of the past) was hitting bullseyes all night.
I rather think its called being reasonably...for a footballer...intelligent

I agree.
I watched Neville last night and he was spot on.
I think the club has gone now, with the other 5. They have
gone past the point of no return. Even if City do a U-turn
and come back in (which is unlikely now), it's all a bit to late
to be honest. The damage is done.

That's what they are calling the fans they don't give two Fuchs about mate.

It the fans who have followed their clubs through good and bad (Hysel/Hillsborough), paid good money and went the game during the recessions and thatcher in the bad old days pre premier League, helped make the club what it is.

FSG don't need or want then anymore and have said so - I actually feel sorry for the local legacy reds, and I never thought id be saying that.

Too true. Legacy fans are those who are left clubless now after spending the lives like mugs following a team that has just binned them off for someone with more money to spend.

I feel sorry for them too.

Seriously what needs to happen is a couple of transfer requests from the sinister six clubs to go in, that will put the fat cat amongst the pidgeons, very much doubt that will happen like.

You can bet your last Sheckle that sky will be out to make as much money out of this as they can. This destruction of the beautiful game as we knew it was started by them in the first place.
