I seem to remember that Fifa took VAR over from IFAB to bring it into line with the continents refereeing system because the margin of error in the premier league with VAR last season was massively different to that of the Bundesliga Serie A and La Liga. I think Wenger may have been involved. It definitely seems to have improved this season.

And that would put pressure on FIFA refs, whether on the pitch or in the VAR room, to get VAR decisions correct as they'd be under more scrutiny with FIFA involved, and potentially have their badge revoked.

Serious post, and only slightly anti Liverpool biased here but when exactly has Thiago ever been considered some Goliath of the midfield with next to no betters in world football? I know my football, not as much as some on here granted but I can’t remember a point where anybody considered him world class or anything more than a good midfielder in a good team who is a bit of a crock.

I think the British media overhyping any foreign signing going to a big club has made Liverpool and probably Chelsea too look like absolute mugs here.

You obviously don't know much about football, otherwise you'd know he is #1 in the world for idea balls.
