Steve McMahon on GMB said they would be upto 8 or 9 wins if they didn't get banned from Europe.
Some nerve that.
Words fail me.
Well, they don’t.
Ashamed of nothing sums it up.

Can't disagree in the slightest with your assertion they've got more fans because they've been more successful.Never really understood why this whole "we´ve got more fans than you" line is used as a stick to beat other teams with. They´ve won more trophies so of course they´ve got more casual fans who will want to go and see ´their team´ bring the European Cup home.
Easiest thing in the world is to never go to a game/pay hardly any interest until your team wins a trophy. Massive shrug of the shoulders from me if they´ve got more of those people supporting them.
I honestly don’t think any of this bothers them. I don’t think they care about anything whilst they’re winning things and we’re not. They don’t give two sh*ts about our self proclaimed “nobleness and dignity”.
HOWEVER... I think there’s a fear there. A fear that we could get our act together like we did in the 80’s and push them all the way and even usurp them. Since 1990, they’ve seen united knock them off their perch. Arsenal have won leagues. Then came Chelsea under Abramovich. Now it’s Manchester City. There’s a weird affinity between the two sets of supporters at the moment but watch what happens if Newcastle get taken over by mega-wealthy owners. Soon the cries of “oil money” will be aimed at them and that “friendship” will break down. How many reds do you know who went ballistic and cheered like they hadn’t done in years when Aguero broke united hearts with that late winner against QPR? All of my mates went bananas. At that point, city were their friends, now they’re a mortal enemy. Because anyone who succeeds more than them is an enemy. They can’t handle it.
Any reds reading this would probably laugh at the idea that they “fear us”. And I could see why- we’re not exactly challenging for top honours or league positions right now. But what if? That’s the question which haunts blues- what if we could just get our act together? But more than haunting us, I truly believe that question haunts them. They don’t fear us as we are... they fear what we could be. Because being pipped to the league by state backed Manchester City is one thing. But can you imagine how they’d feel if it was us? Little old Everton. Would be quite embarrassing for them wouldn’t it? Now that’s a pretty big leap admittedly, but just wait and see what happens if we do start to get our act together.
To me this notion of fear is why they can’t just enjoy their victory this weekend without overtly gloating about it and rubbing our faces in it. Prince Rupert’s tower is the ultimate example of this. I’m sure they would counter by saying we revel in their defeats, which is fair comment. But between two clubs in the same city, there will always and should always be sporting rivalry. Enjoying the losses of your local rivals is perfectly normal. To me there’s an aspect of belittling, humiliation and downright bullying that comes from elements of their fan base in regards to us. The constant need to reference us even in their victories tells me this. They want to rub it in as much as possible, to lord it over us whilst they can because they don’t know how long they will be able to do so. One day it can all change. That’s my hope. And that’s their fear.

They've also secured another generation of young fans who've now seen a trophy, not told about previous victoried paraded in the city.
This is the bit that hurts if I'm honest. I would guess most of our young support comes via family loyalties. So in my eyes a trophy of any kind is essential for the young fanbase in an effort to maintain support for our club.
Spot on. Gerard Houllier was already versed in the football culture in the city as he was a schoolteacher here in earlier years coupled with the fact that he was more refined. The last two managers, both outsiders, seem to think its acceptable to be as contemptuous in their media soundbites as most of their supporters towards our club. Its unprofessional and disrespectful to the nth degree....yet says so much more about them than it ever could about us.I will never understand how after 3 months of Klopp being there how any Evertonian was saying they didn't mind him. The guy is the biggest bell I've ever known manage them. That streak you mentioned is obvious to me. He's worse than Mourinho because at least Jose didn't hide it.
I didn't mind Evans, Hodgson, Rodgers or Dalglish, (he spoke well of Everton), Houllier was okish, Benitez is an inappropriate language. Get the feeling Klopp won't be there much longer either.
Oops!
Pretending to be an Everton fan on the internet over a period of months.
Those poor penny-less reds. Winning games on character and community alone, without spending a single pound.
If I could just make that into a banner and wave it on match days. If only...
Or maybe Diane abbotTrump did the estimates for them
It's always difficult to win games when the ref gives you a goal out of nothingHorrible to admit, but we all said last year how they had an easy run to the final, this year that can’t be said in anyway, to beat PSG, Napoli, Bayern, Barca in the manner they did, they did it the hard way this time - painful as it is saying that.
He totally ignores the fact that his supporters caused the deaths of 39 innocent people, who incidentally had a anniversary just last week. So to come out with a flippant, disrespectfull comment like that is sickening. K’off macmahon.Words fail me.

You must be a bitter blue if you don't think that winning a competition where you can lose four games in 13, and then play Tottenham Hotspur in the final, makes a team the best in Europe.Good God, try explaining to them that it was like a championship play off final and their heads come clean off.
The European triumph will always be shadowed by the fact that you were not even the best team in your country that year, let alone Europe.
