ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I shouldn't really get into this stuff because I feel so strongly about it, and I know the majority of them are not bad people....even if they are entitled freaks with zero class or rationality where footy is concerned.

It's the lack of recognition about the horror show they inflicted on the world that night in Belgium that sticks in my craw. It's completely unacceptable to me that the same people who (rightly) spoke up for justice over Hillsborough have never shown any respect or concern for the injustice of Heysel being swept under the carpet by the British media they've lobbied in their own campaigns. It's the ultimate hypocrisy. I'll never forgive what's happened over this, never. Regardless of the football rivalry, we have a civic organisation in this city with an historic act of mass killings on its hands and it's failed to acknowledge that and deal with it, beyond a few poxy scraps of official text and a disgracefully inadequate "memorial plaque".

I despise them.

That tit Peter Hooton said everything you need to know about the mentality of RS fans "The stadium was not fit for purpose. As a Liverpool fan I don't feel any culpability whatsoever"

hit the nail there mate as a bunch they're horrendous, individually they can be ok, I know some nice kopites who when they get together with a few more become arrogant insulting aggressive tossers. Trying to find a kopite who will acknowledge Hysel is impossible, but they'll bore you to death about the injustices of Hillsborough all night long when they never even went there or knew anyone who suffered, Disgraceful lot. The Stauer Bucharest 1986 is a disgrace basically bragging about the fact 39 people died and us getting banned from Europe which is insignificant in comparison of course. They're an embarrassment.

That’s the issue I most dislike them for and it’s hardest to broach. If you bring it up you’re calling them all murderers and you just get silenced. It’s not that every single one of them are terrible people, it’s the fact that the organisation they support have been party to an actual atrocity there and they’re so willing to talk about hillsborough and fight for justice (rightly so, they should do, and they should fight for justice) but they can’t see that other fans would absolutely despise them for what they’ve done and swept under the carpet

The fact they have their history and are still the establishment team is amazing. I can’t fathom how the club responsible for 39 deaths is all the media’s favourite. It boggles my mind.

Even if I weren’t a blue I’d want them to win nothing, they don’t deserve it, they should be remembered for what they’ve done.

OH DEAR G-D WILL YOU SHUT UP.

I agree about the way the press have treated Liverpool supporters, but they're not an oppressed minority, and a lot of those comments are anti-Scouse in general. And we can't cheer for them to win the league BECAUSE THEY'RE OUR RIVALS.

Anything in there about them stoning opposition buses?

Or players failing drugs tests?

Or racism?
Or biting opponents?

That (from him) completely misses the point. It's not about individual fans owning up to anything. It's about an organisation he supports failing for the past 30 years to properly acknowledge an appalling loss of life and a complicit British media covering up for them.

Yeah the lad from the farm, he did a piece in the echo a few years ago mate. Just do a google of him, Heysel and echo.
Just read that.....imagine us in the same stadium....just a fecking excuse. I lived opposite the dad of one of the lads convicted, and he told me that the rs fans were after the Juve fans from the start as reprisals for previous form v roma...not all of them obviously but enough to matter...absolutely amazed I haven't seen this before... what a 24 carat gobshite. Ta for that Lou

Social media has exploded their true tribal and cult behaviour, and it’s getting much worse.

Just seen the Kevin Campbell tweet and there’s hundreds of them trying to call him out for something horrendous he didn’t do.

If they carry on going the way they’re going, i can only see an incident escalating during a match between us or another set of fans, they’re that toxic.

But they have a plaque outside so it's all okay, aye. Oh and all the lurkers will go back and report that it's all in jest like everything else they've done.

Campbell did nothing wrong. He's a decent bloke, he enjoys a bit of banter with John Simmonds, but he isn't cruel about it. Some footballers are edgelords. Campbell is not one of them. Yes I'm biased as he's my fave, but the original poster mentioned comas and Campbell responded in kind. It's like they're going out of their way to find something to be offended about.

I'll assume they're not ashamed of it.
