ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Crucial weekend coming up. Liverpool will beat Bournemouth you’d imagine. City just need to win as well and maintain pace. Liverpool going 3 ahead with a game in hand would be a decent lead for them so City have to win tomorrow the heat on. Hopefully Bournemouth can actually turn up for once and send them into a complete tailspin.

With them losing form of late their fans were already going into blind panic so god knows what they are like now being knocked off top spot.

Some of the abuse they were directing at each other on social media after Monday's draw was a delight to read.

They really thought they'd got it in the bag by the turn of the year and were busying rubbing our, and everybodys elses, noses in it so it would be great if they ended finishing third in a one horse race.

Come on Everton. Players in cotton wool until the derby. Play the under 12s against Watford and Cardiff.

I genuinely believe if we beat the RS then City will win the league.

No we need to get back to winning ways now.... We have a 2 week break after Watford (great chance to refresh), then use the Cardiff game to warm up again for the Derby...
While we're resting, Liverpool face Munich and United....we should be playing our strongest team against Watford and Cardiff...

A few of the lads who sit around me in work are staunch reds (I know) but typically level-headed enough. The were still reasonably confident up until the West Ham game - now they think they might've blown it.

Really starting to believe that will be the game that decides the title. If they win it will probably give them the lift to go on another great run which would see them over the line. If we can take points or even actually beat them it could be the knock out blow if City also win that weekend.

They have to go to United before come here.

lol

Pure bantz. We are all lovely and butter wouldn't melt. Everyone knows that. I'm off to polish my halo.

I can't even spell offensive anyway.
This banana thing really was a stretch. It's not as if the players get anywhere near the fans at most grounds these days and he could hardly have expected PEA to come rushing over looking for him..

Granted what he did was crass but every action seems to demand extreme reaction.

Neither would I be so quick to assume extreme racism towards Mo Salah on Monday. What is genuine jealousy (he's not only a good player but obviously better than West Ham players) manifests itself in the base language. It's bad but it's (say) half ignorance/jealousy and half rank poor judgement bordering on racism. It's society that is just as culpable for encouraging Otherness (see any copy of the Daily Mail for example)

Totally agree. The fella threw a discarded banana SKIN (that wasn't his) in the general direction of 6 Woolwich players 5 of whom were white.
The media overkill was ridiculous.
