ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Considering they have the easier run in than City, I do find the odds a little strange. City now 1/3 favs and the RS 5/2. Thought they would be a little tighter. Will be interesting to see if they change if Bayern knock them out the CL and City advance.

Is it an easier run in though? They both have two games against the top 6. It looks fairly much level to me. Also no one can know which games will be hard. Palace away for example could either have the deckchairs out or be scrapping for points. There’s no way of knowing. I think City need to build up a lead over the next few games to give them space to slip up at United.

It will be very tight though. I don’t think Liverpool will win every game but it could come down to when the teams drop points and how much pressure they can exert on each other.

Why do they all keep saying we finally have something to be happy about at goodison.
I googled it and in the last 7 games at home it’s 6 draws and one defeat.
Our derby record is abysmal but at home its not like they are regularly taking us to the cleaners

That account is the equivalent of James Pearce’s bog roll. Utter trash. An outlet for the most bitter section of their fan base masquerading as a mainstream fan account.

I saw a clip of TAW on Twitter before the game where one of the contributors confidently predicted "they will remember who they are and we will remember who we are" in relation to yesterdays game whilst the others smirked.

Fairly standard as far as banter goes but the arrogance was off the scale, there wasn't even a statistical chance of them not winning yesterday according to that lot.

It's a pity they don't remember who they are rather more often, if they did they wouldn't be seen for shame.

The easier run in line is what they are telling themselves. United and Chelsea are broadly similar, both have Spurs to play then both have an array of fixtures. Games like Wolves at Home and Newcastle away final 2 for Liverpool could be very tough (especially if Newcastle are not safe). Wolves have proven themselves very adept at getting points off the top 5/6.

I also have a sneaky feeling United may fall away a bit. There is mounting injuries there and I do wonder if the Solskiaar honeymoon bubble may burst, especially on the CL qualification goes. It will be a big game for United but you'd have to think he prioritises the cups.

The facts don't lie, I think I saw it's 13 dropped in the last 10 games for them. They haven't scored in 3 of the last 4. Any sort of repetition of those numbers and forget first they will do well to finish 2nd.

They are fortunate United had to stick out a 2nd string team with only 10 men for most of the game really. Had United turned them over I'd really have fancied them to implode and finish below even United which would have been absolute popcorn. There's always next season for United to take their natural place as superior to Liverpool again for the next 30 years though.

They’ve not won in 6 of the last 7 to Goodison with the win being a last minute Mane goal from a rebound off the post after they’d done nothing for 90 minutes. They’ve got a poor record at Anfield against us too in terms of wins. Yes our win record is rubbish and when we have lost we’ve been mauled recently under Martinez but given that record you’d think they’d have a touch of nerves going into that fixture. They couldn’t even beat Allardyces Everton in the league home or away so quite why they were spouting off about demolishing us I don’t know. They just have no grip on reality whatsoever. Deluded and arrogant.

I think it will be tight but I just do not see Liverpool winning all 9 games. Even if they drew two and won 7 (which still seems a stretch), City could still lose one and draw one to win it. It all comes down to now who can put the best run of form together but Liverpool haven’t shown anything in 2019 to suggest it will be them. If they get back to what they were doing in December then who knows.
