Didn't take them long.

I beat Brian Reade to it on the "Gordon Banks" thread earlier with the 'original Banksie' comment.....#11

Pretty sure I was in that Bullens Road stand for the game as a kid...think we won 6-2 and it was before that World Cup Pele save. We were always good at welcoming opposition goalies, but none moreso than Gordon... the original Banksie. May he rest in peace

You'd think that theyd cornered the market in respecting Gordon...another object to brand the Liver Bird on. God knows, I don't think anyone of a certain age thinks anything but highly of him, even outside of football. Requiescat In Pace.

Even if they draw v United they’d still be huge favourites. They’d be a point ahead with potentially no difficult fixtures left. We’d be hoping that they dropped unexpected points (which could happen) and that City stayed perfect. We need a United win and then ideally us to draw with them to turn the dial back to City.

They don't have the squad for Europe AND weekend games. City do have the squad though

They have to play United, Spurs, us (haha) and a good set of the relegation-threatened teams away from home. I'd say it's far from an easy run-in for them.

Spurs are at home for them and will be susceptible to being shafted by the refs. We are a shambles. United away is the only game that could be a problem for them. The rest the refs can take care of.
