A few years ago i would laugh at people walking around our airports, subway stations, public library's and even the streets in those face masks. It was a rare sight but you would bump into one every now and then and think ' come on, you're taking this too far; you're not getting bird flu ffs '.

I didn't even bat an eyelid at that pic above and i'm not laughing anymore.

Both are equally ridiculous.

The person wearing that suit is more likely to get killed by the plane they're waiting for than by Ebola. In fact they're more likely to get killed by a plane crashing into the terminal and flattening them.

Took my husband to the local ER at the weekend for a complaint unrelated to any flu like symptoms.

Within the first five questions, and being on site for less than 10mins, we were asked "could you have been exposed to Ebola". Nurse said that it was now included high up on the automatic checkups that they have to enter into the computer. She said that they usually take ages to alter the computer system but this had gone in quickly after the Texas case.

It's bad that it happened, but this will wake up all the other hospitals/clinics. We didn't have them before, but suddenly our clinics are going to be getting the PPE needed for Ebola, not the more standard issue usually seen in ambulatory clinics.

Huge ginormous black-eye for this hospital. No other hospital is going to risk that, especially after this warning. If nothing else the hospital risk managers are freakin and they can make things happen.
