That what we needed, some of the lads to step up and a few of them to be captains.

Made up with baines and coleman, had me concerned, but baines could be back.
Barkley got stronger as the game grew
Gana what can I say
Mcarthy this is the guy I fell in love with
Valencia gave us what lukaku can't do, bring others into play
Concerned about lukaku

...I thought Lukaku actually won lots of those out balls tonight. I wouldn't criticise anybody involved in that display.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman, speaking to BBC Sport:

"The first 20 minutes, that was really poor. We were very nervous and unsure. Every ball back. Mistakes and no aggression. After that we played face to face and showed unbelievable spirit to come back and we deserved the win. We were lucky in the last situation but we played great football and the support of the fans, it makes Goodison Park really difficult to beat us here.

"Sometimes it is difficult to understand why we start so poorly at the beginning. Of course there is some lack of confidence but show your personality. We showed big personality."

Pretty much summed it up.

That makes no sense to me.
You can work as hard as you want but you need an identity as to how you break down the opposition.
Possession?
Direct?
Crosses?

You're seemingly suggesting we just run at them. fast.

It works mate :)

Intensity, aggression. These are the fundamentals we NEED to get back to on a consistent basis.

When we do, the players we have play better, and then the football will come - because the quality is there (though we do need more additions in key areas to make sure we can keep it up on a consistent basis, and add a bit of flair/guile as well).
