the likes of Duncan and Unsworth frankly can go I don't see the need to keep them on ad infinitum - Duncan in particular has been integral to 2 failed regimes now. In what way exactly has he served the club with distinction? If the new man wants his own team in and Unsworth has to go then so be it, no problem. This is a ruthless business we cannot sleepwalk our way into the Championship in order to retain an u23 coach.
In fact if Allardyce has asked for 15 of his own people to be brought in then I would say that's actually a very proactive and positive move.
I understand that, and it's a fair point on particularly Fergusan who I think could do with a change as he's stagnating. However Unsworth has done a remarkable job with the under 23's in bring lads through ready to be able to play for the first. Probably as well as any equivalent in the league. I think it would be completely unfair for him to lose his position to get one of Allardyce's cronies in.
More than that though, this is a club that is meant to be a family club, meant to look after it's own etc. While we are not a charity, however throwing out Evertonians who'd do anything for this club, to cosy up to a manager who's never finished higher than 10th and is after a big payday for him and his entourage doesn't sit easily with me.
I'd also say, when it's Elstone, Kenwright or Woods there is never any ruthlessness. Summer after summer they have failed to deliver and none of them are held to account. Yet lads who played their hearts out for us, and have come back to help teach the next generation (with a lot of success) are pawns in a discussion with a manager like Allardyce doesn't sit well with me at all. Farad Moshiri should have a long look at himself if lads like Ebbrell, Unsworth, Royle and Fergusan are shown the door before frauds like Elstone are.
