"He's dreadful but we miss him so much"
"I don't rate him but we're desperate for him to come back"

Make your minds up!

FWIW I rate him, his passing, shooting and crossing and we definitely miss him. It's not his fault that he's surrounded by dross in the midfield and forwards that fire blanks.
Or that he'd lose a race with Slowpoke Rodriguez.

Actually, on second thoughts, he bears a passing resemblance to Slowpoke...

They’re not contradictory statements, that’s literally the point they’re making - that he’s not very good but is better than anything else we have.

In the valley of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Well it doesn't matter whether you rate him or not, (and I suppose the same goes for me). The facts are that before his injury he was in the top 5 in the league for chances created (he's still 14th having missed the last 6 games), and he has been directly involved in 65% of our league goals when playing, and 60% overall.

At least when he plays there is a chance we might create something without him and with Doucoure in that position there is no chance at all

What's the deal with this lad?

If he is sulking over his Mrs, get rid.

We need warriors moving forward.

No need for that. Footballers are human beings. Perhaps you are fortunate enough not to have had to support someone you care about through ill health and tough times, and experience the impact that has, and what would you say about someone who chose to do the same for you - would you want rid of them?

Rumours that him and his lady friend have parted ways.

Seems strange he would miss games cos of it, I get it, heartbreak is rough, but you know.

Everyone was very quick, and rightly so, to come out in support of Dele when he first alluded to mental health issues. The breakup of a relationship, especially after what they went through, can proper goose your head up. If the lad needs time, give it to him and bring him back into the fold when he is ready to go. Piling on him after crap performances because his head is binned will only send him spiralling.

All I was saying is you seem to be missing the point that they're actually making - that they don't believe he's very good in the grand scheme of things but he is important to us as a team. It's similar to when Dyche first came in and Doucoure was a key player, I think Doucoure is awful and always have, but there was denying we were better with him than without him at that time. People are just saying the same thing about McNeil.
