The problem with agents is they are always after their next %cut, and they get a cut of a bigger amount with a transfer or free transfer than keeping a player at a club where he's probably happy and earning a decent amount. all it takes is a bit of "Club A are willing to pay you £X more than Everton are..." "Tranmere will put you straight into the first team..." etc..
Or those points you make could be true ? Good agents will on occasion advise against players moving but that doesn't hit the media or fit the whole 'anti-agent' agenda most have. Like every other job in the world there is good & bad
I don't doubt that there are good ones about, and probably should have started that post "The problem with most agents". But like other businessmen, in the main, they are there to make money, and they make their money out of transfers and a % of wages. Its a problem in general that often the bad is highlighted a lot more than good.
Appreciate that mate but Look at the money everton paid in agent fees even when we didn't sign anyone , you can make your money from new contracts. Also thsee days a lot make money by working as 3rd party representatives of clubs pursuing transfers , there is a lot more to it than engineering moves. Like I say I do take your points though
It's a pleasure to see you posting on here mr Duffy as it was to see you on another site in the past & I know you must be incredibly proud of you lad and he seems , what little I know, to be a credit to you. Reading your posts though it seems Shane is happier with his agent than you ? I can totally understand your concerns and like you and a lot of other posters I hope it can be resolved. Having an agent that doesn't get on with the manager is never good but don't lose track of the fact that the agents work for Shane not vice versa. Hopefully they are working to a plan but whatever the case the final word on it is with Shane and obviously everton , fingers crossed it works out for all of us.
Captained the U21's today as they beat Holland 3-0.
Well done Shane!
