Cal,As far as I know these old fossils have paid road tax ,got insured and passed a test.now I accept some are bad but equally some of the younger ones are even worse.I happily admit I do not break the speed limit on 30 mph I do 30mph now drive down Prescott rd and watch the idiots race down the road the spot the speed camera and break causing every car behind problems,one [Poor language removed] did it the other day when it was icy and caused a three car collision a drove off without stopping although he did get a flash from the camera as he skated through.by the way I have been driving 40 years and the only speeding ticket I have had was when someone else was driving and it was quashed

Anyone over 60 should have to take their test again imo (no offence and that).

So many [Poor language removed] drivers on the roads it makes me fume.

Oh and Scooters too make me furious.

I drive for a living cal. Nothing surprises me on the road anymore. I've seen people do u-turns on m/ways and drive the wrong way up sliproads. Believe me OAP's are the last of your worries mate.

But for me the worse drivers on the road are Woman. I have yet to come across a decent woman driver, how they pass there test is beyond me

I shouldnt really rise the bait on with these comments but I do think that you've made a bit of a sweeping statement there. That's like saying that all men are criminals because 96% of violent crime is commited by males.
All men are not criminals and not all women are bad drivers.
You must just come across some that are less competent than you perhaps?

My experiences of driving both professionally for 5 years (as a bus driver) and for business etc for a total of 35 years, as a member of the IAM and no collisions in all of that time - or indeed any points, fines, whatever on my license would perhaps suggest that my driving skills are of a relatively high level.
Incidentally, my driving undergoes an assesment each year by a class 1 police driving instructor and so far I have not failed.

Besides me, there are thousands of women who are members of the IAM, who are class 1 police drivers, ambulance drivers, professional drivers in any number of roles in the community. To imply that each and every women is genetically engineered to be a bad driver is not really appropriate.

Theres a few women in our place driving HGV1 with the rest of us. I know a few mates of mine would love to have the license that they have but wouldnt know how to reverse one. You have to take your hat off to them for having the guts to do it

Drive smart—avoid aggressive driving. Sound to me like it is you who needs to re take your test.

Highway Code states 'the speed limit is the absolut maximum and does not mean it is safe to drive at that speed' it also says 'be considerate of other road users .... try to be understanding of other road users ... be patient .... do not allow yourself to be agitated'


I also think you need to spend a little time trying to understand what it is like to be older or less able than others. The world doesn't revolve around you, and thinking that people who are not up to your standards should just be removed is offensive. Grow up.
