Dream Signing

Batshuyi will have more suitors than Lukaku mate, that 8m release clause he has will attract all the good sides from England, France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Germany, Russia and Portugal.

Lukaku is a unusual instance, he's not the finished article yet will demand a guaranteed starting spot at a team at a CL calibre team in one of the BIG leagues, that narrows his choices down a hell of a lot to teams with a open spot without a great forward line up, then his fee, then his lack of European experience all further to make bidders wary of him, honestly think we could almost have a clean run at him as the biggest worry would be Spurs and Arsenal neither of whom Chelsea would sell too i don't reckon.

Bony I'd swerve and hope that one of the other teams interested in LUkaku goes that way instead, same for Remy actually, hope that a Athletico pick him up as a costa replacement etc

Benteke - could see him being bought by bsomeone in Jan, not until he's proved he's back from his achilles injury though

Ings - LOL

assuming right now the value of Lukaku is around 20m and chelsea are hanging on to see if the world cup drives his price higher, then honestly 'if' we have the money its worth just saying 25m right now for him, as delaying could lose us any chance of him if he goes on to star at the tournament, long term the 5m extra would disappear anyway so shouldn't harm any long term transfer policy

Who then?!

I wonder what striker we'll end up with.

Lukaku is the obvious shout but with obvious drawbacks. He's gonna cost a lot and I fear a fair few more teams will want him and crucially be able to pay more. FFS.

Michy Batshuyi (I'm never going to be able to spell that). Interesting. Can't say I've ever seen him but he seems highly rated and again has richer clubs sniffing about.

Bony. Nah. See how he does a second season in the prem hey.

Bentekkers. Maybe. Villa are sh*te and him not world cupping it might bring his price down, at least a little.

Danny Ings. No mate. I'd guess an £8m fee and he's had one full season, although a decent one, as a first team player. Needs more time at a club like he's at for me.

I'm open to ideas.....

I'd take Lukaku or Batshuayi. Lukaku for obvious reasons. Batshuayi (dunno, gonna call him Batty from now on) seems like another Lukaku/Benteke, so if he is, can't be going wrong there.

Benteke could be crocked due to the injury. Can't be spunking that money around on him if he is. Ings is risky. Saw him play in Bournemouth a few times. He's only just found his impressive goalscoring form. Clubs should wait on him for another season, but I can see someone buying him and seeing him performing well (like Blackburn did with Rhodes).

It's going to be Franco Di Santo isn't it?

Who then?!

I'm actually pretty sure on the fact we will get Lukaku mate, would go so far as think a deals already in place for the summer between, Mourinho and Martinez, think Lukaku himself has agreed as long as the club reach CL, and only if we don't does he want to have a chance to check on other offers first. so 4th we will get him before the world cup imo, 5th or lower not till after unless someone massive comes in assuming he has a blinder

Also think a first option on Barkley could be included in the deal as well, which is nothing big for us but very big for chelsea as it gives them the upper hand for once over city should he ever move on

Bony will stay at Swansea IMO.

Remy will be at Spuds or The Arse, and I think whichever one of them that doesn't get him will probably end up with Lacazette instead - another quality player but I'm unsure if he'd actually fit our system. A kind of Suarez/Remy hybrid.

Costa I can see at Chelsea and of all the teams that Lukaku may go to, he'd probably suit Atletico the most. Quick, powerful, counter-attacking football etc. Dortmund would suit him as well, but don't t think they could afford him. Roma have also being linked and Lukaku is fluent in both Italian and Spanish, and he'd be first choice for 2 teams who are def. gonna be in Champs League next year. Add in that he's now gonna be Belgium's first choice striker in the summer and it looks a bit bleak.

That's looking at it realistically.

I'd love him to stay, and if we get 4th (big if) and if we get give the funds (bigger if) then I believe he will be leading the line for us again next year, and hopefully a few years after that until he fires us to European glory and him and Bobby leave for Barca.

Alternatively, Benteke would be a top signing, but the injury means thats not gonna happen. Batshuayi has it all from what i've seen of him - the odd game for Standard on a dodgy stream and (admittedly) YouTube.

If we were to sign Batshuayi, plus a solid striker such as Carlos Bacca (id love Adrian Ramos but he's just been signed as Lewandoski's replacement at Dortmund) then we'd be able to challenge in Europe at least. However, it's a big gamble as none of the above have ever played in the Prem, and personally i'd rather we go all out for Rom.

Remy i'd love to have but I think after being stuck up North for a year he'll want the London lights again, and while I do think Bony is a class act, there's always the 2nd season syndrome to take into account.

Michu could be a possibility, and I reckon a bid of £12-14 mil would tempt Swansea. He's a quality player but injuries have taken their tole this season, so it could be a risk. But, Him, combined with a player such as Batshuayi might just be ok if we didn't get Rom on a perm.

As for 'dream signings' for £15mil., Dusan Tadic is my first choice. He's pure class, I really hope the rumours about us going for him in Jan were true, and that we're still interested if we ever were. I know he's got a few fans on here and he really would be the perfect fit for Martinez' system - especially to phase out Pienaar.

Rakitic is another pipe dream although he'll go for big money. RS, Chelski and Utd. said to be interested but if he goes, hopefully it'll be to Real Madrid!
