I hope he has a PhD in hamstring injury avoidance
Actually that's not to far removed from what he has done/can do. I was reading about what the equivalent Sky Cycling guy does, and part of the role is siting down with individuals, working out where their muscular weaknesses are and devising a programme accordingly . So certainly in his past he could devise a" hamstring injuries avoidance programme", his role now is beyond that, but you'd expect him to be directing our Academy coaches in techniques that would reduce all injuries generally and specific programmes for individuals who have reoccurring problems. No reason why this shouldn't be fed up to the first team as they're all at FF. I remain excited by this s appointment !

Strange appointment really. I can see why we might need an expert in physical development and performance, but why head of the Academy? Not bothered either way, except that I would be happier to see a Director of Defending appointed.

This appointment has absolutely zero connection with our prospective new owners, aside from the coincidence that they're both American.

When Moyes had renowned American fitness coach Steve Tashjian at the club, that also had nothing to do with prospective U.S. owners.

Everton sometimes hire Americans for key roles at the club, because football is a global game & we're not some no-mark League 1 team where hiring someone foreign is an oddity that needs to be justified with a complicated reason.
