Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

Another signing we should have made sure we got in but never, especially as a loan would have been a great addition. Is that MGW, Elanga and Luiz we’ve missed out on to Forest? We’re a very unattractive proposition to players and no wonder we’re struggling to attract players in to improve us.

Another one bites the dust, Forest having a blinder of a window. Thought last season was a total fluke but they could be problem again this year
Yup, team who for a lot of us were in a division below us for the majority of our lives. So awful to watch teams like this overtake us in terms of ambition and squad quality with such ease.

The Forest owner is nuts but he genuinely wants Forest to compete so you have to take your hat off too him. Don't think we could have got Luis without European football sadly

Scary isn't it.

I've wondered about our recruitment ever since that koeman Walsh BK mess 9 seasons ago. Mostly older, expensive short term acquisitions.

Moyes and TFG don't really have an obvious plan for the squad. Why make Grealish a 3rd left side option, when we have no right side at all.

Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth... These are League 1 clubs in recent times. Now Forest. Only Villa, Barcodes and Spurs are of equivalent size history/ stadium/ fans wise. All Europe and/ or CL and/ or winning silverware .

This has been a long term patteen.

Clubs like Brighton have a long term vision and structure where all the parts from managers to players fit in seemingly to that vision. We on the other hand have bounced about from one extreme to another making it up ad hoc along the way. This is why I'm prepared to be patient with the new guys at the helm as we're crying out for stability and a long term plan to get us challenging at the higher end of the table. It won't be plain sailing and there will be many annoyances along the way but I'm hoping by not being a scattergun outfit nomore we'll be rewarded in the end

This is true, and a spot on post.

But this transfer window so far doesn't present a long term strategy.

Quick expensive fixes in Grealish, Ake now on the cards... It's almost like the brief is ' grind out 16th', with expensive loans, no youth and no plan for the right side of the pitch.

That's not a long term stable vision to me, but I do understand your point, and how you're right.

Could be Kev. Though it could also work for them. There won't be any middle ground though so it's boom or bust
Europe will shake out their squad. This year they'll be up for it, exciting times, fair play.

Next season is the measure of both their funds and squad - what with FFP, PSR and some tired legs to manage.

I agree about Grealish and Ake especially Ake but I see why Moyes would want them as he wants results straight away. It's why I agree with Davek that we need a younger more dynamic manager in the long term as I don't get the impression Moyes fits in with the direction the club is planning on going. Though of course I could be totally wrong and they're singing from the same hymn sheet. Time will tell
