I do.
Drawing with a dour team like England doesn't change anything, although the US did do better than I thought they would and you've got to give them credit. But England's lack of composure played right into your hands, they certainly aren't the bench mark for anything.
No, it doesn't mean we're a top 3 side (or that england are, for that matter).
But that mexico has the edge & we'd be chasing shadows, after they drew against a weak south africa team? England was disappointing, sure. But not significantly stronger than SA?
And, like I say, we've consistently qualified higher than them despite them having 1 of the most impossible homes to play. When we play them on our soil, no matter the location, there are always more mexican supporters than american, so even they feel like away matches (I actually believe the unique landscape & adversities the U.S. go through all help factor in their strength, toughness, & collective fighting spirit; they consistently play above the sum of their individual parts; but that's another issue for another day). Yet we consistently win & continue to lead our region on basically all levels.
I don't feel there's a huge gap between the 2 of us, don't get me wrong. Mexico is never an easy match & can always pose a threat to us on any given day. But if you've been paying attention to what's been going on in our neck of the woods the past 4-8 years, you'd know it'd be very difficult to argue mexico's superiority based on a pretty extensive stretch of results.
