Donovan to Fulham?

Even if true, it's a nothing story. So what if Fulham have made an enquiry ? He's proved what he can do, it would be surprising if other clubs weren't enquiring about his price and availability. Will he go to Fulham ? Not in a million years.

Didn't he say it was the only place he would play?

I'm probably wrong like.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm pretty sure he threw the word "want" in there...I guess so as not to shut the door completely in case Everton don't ever come through.

Anyway, not sure if anyone here listened to a little radio interview he did during the week and he was asked just what is it about Everton that he liked so much: his answer, paraphrased, "It was wierd. I don't know what it was, but I just fell in love immediately with the team, with the fans, with the whole organization. And they did with me, too."

It's the people, one [Poor language removed] hawk of a rumour paper.

They missed the bit where he said last week that he'd only play for Everton in England.

Exactamundo.

Donovan has said he'd only play for us.

I don't care what the rags say. If he leaves the MLS, it'll only be for England and it'll only be for Everton.

Next.

Agreeing again, and with that saying...LD, when, and he will come back to the EPL, it will be will be with Everton.

First, I do not think that he is that tight with Dempsey, and why Fulham? There is no past or future there with him. tx bill could answer the question, do they really like each other? I wonder. I have heard of some problems. This is the ONE reason above all that I think gives these rags no credibility. They think because it is Donovan, and Dempsey, two Yanks, two great players, that maybe than an EPL team would want them on the same team. Not, I think, and not for underlying reasons. I think other than the USMNT, they will never play together, for a reason.

Any other USA based poster think the same thing?

Anyway, LD is a guy that is loyal and will go back to his fan base, and it is Everton. The money, I believe is not an issue with him. He is not an mercenary. Believe the US fans on here when they say, that he plays for the love of the game, the fans and the team, not who pays the most. That has always been his MO.

The only way that I see him going to anothe EPL team, is if Everton makes it clear that they do not want him. Do they want him, if yes, then it is in LA Laker terms, a slam dunk.

if Donovan was to go to any other club than Everton, people here would be pounding the Samaritans.

hide the sharp instruments and confiscate the rope is what I say.

actually, in all seriousness, him ending up at Craven Cottage some point down the line may not be as fantasy as some would think.

stranger things have happened in the game, thats for sure.

most publications these days are only good for wiping your ass with, but that aside, it'll be interesting to see what does happen at later stages.

Where he wants to go & what his club wants for him, can be two very different things.

If other clubs are sniffing around then you know Galaxy will want top dollar. LD may say he wants to be at Everton, but if he stands his ground & we aren't offering Galaxy's asking price, then he probably wont be going anywhere.

Everton have to decide if he's worth getting into a bidding war for. Personally, it was nice to have him whilst we did, but if we were going to bust a nut to pay top dollar for a player, I'm not sure it'd be for LD...IMHO.
