WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is poised to roll back the federal requirement for employers to include birth control coverage in their health insurance plans, vastly expanding exemptions for those that cite moral or religious objections. The new rules, which could be issued as soon as Friday, fulfill a campaign promise by President Trump and are sure to touch off a round of lawsuits on the issue.

More than 55 million women have access to birth control without co-payments because of the contraceptive coverage mandate, according to a study commissioned by the Obama administration. Under the new regulations, hundreds of thousands of women could lose birth control benefits they now receive at no cost under the Affordable Care Act. One new rule offers an exemption to any employer or insurer that objects to covering contraceptive services “based on its sincerely held religious beliefs.” Another regulation offers a new exemption to employers that have “moral convictions” against covering contraceptives.

So much for separation of Church and State.

Is it any wonder the states with the highest numbers of unplanned pregnancies, especially among teen girls are Texas, Tennessee and Alabama. Pretty much all red states. I must find the article with the stats on sex education and teen pregnancy and the lack of knowledge and protection.

Baffles the mind really. Irony, is they give out about muslim's and their traditions and rules, yet how are these guys any different? They don't like women's rights either it seems.

There are a lot of parellels between far right Muslim dogma and far right Christian dogma. But they just can't see that. Disgusting.

First I've ever heard her speak; she's as odious and sniveling and weasely as Spicer.
I actually think she's way worse. I found Spicer shocking because of what he was saying but it wasn't long before it was pretty clear that he was uncomfortable and wasn't fully on board. She, on the other hand, is completely intoxicated by the whole thing, like some glassy eyed cult member.

I agree Spicer you could see was uncomfortable. He knew full well what he was saying was BS and although he said it and went along with it he just looked odd up there as he was caught in a lie or caught short so many times.

This one is an ice queen who doesn't seem to have a personality. Who is a yes man (woman) and will go along with anything if it makes her look good to her bosses.

The GOP's obsession with birth control, and by extension abortion, never ceases to be mind-boggling to me. You'd think they wouldn't want more poor, minority mouths to feed. These people are disgusting to me.

Last year they said that 16% of America was now Atheist (really dislike that word) which was a massive jump from the 5% several years before. Although there are many reasons for it i think the GOP ultras when it comes to Christian values helps sway a lot of people away from the church. Not the main factor but one nonetheless.

Why do they have to be minority? More than plenty poor white folks out there doing the same things. No need to go there.

Utterly pathetic
https://www.washingtonpost.com/amph...-and-electricity-in-puerto-rico-from-website/
As of Wednesday, half of Puerto Ricans had access to drinking water and 5 percent of the island had electricity, according to statistics published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on its Web page documenting the federal response to Hurricane Maria.

By Thursday morning, both of those key metrics were no longer on the Web page.

FEMA spokesman William Booher noted that both measures are still being reported on a website maintained by the office of Puerto Rican Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, www.status.pr. According to that website, which is in Spanish, 9.2 percent of the island now has power and 54.2 percent of residents have access to drinking water. Booher said that these measures are also shared in news conferences and media calls that happen twice a day, but he didn't elaborate on why they are no longer on the main FEMA page.
