It is very common for major legislation...usually people involved in getting the law passed and non-gov't people that will be impacted by the law. Obama did it for some executive orders as well.

I bet all it will be is the democrats asking him to confirm the juicy bits and the republicans deflecting and trying to put words in his mouth that nothing happened. We shall probably also see republicans telling democrats to be quiet or interrupt them like they did yesterday.
But at the end Trump will most likely come out unscathed no matter what is actually true because the majority are blind to the illegal stuff.
I like Clapper but lately he has become a media whore being on every channel telling anyone who will listen he hates trump and trump did wrong. He has made his point he needs to ease of.

No, i get that and i do like how he is honest with his opinion. Most of the other retired intelligence people have stayed quiet. I just think people who make the same point over and over and don't have anything new to say can come across less credible and more kind of nuts. There is a few like that in the walls of GOT forum haha!!

Oh, am not downplaying the seriousness of the allegations although still doubt Trump himself colluded.
Just that expectations seem to be that this testimony will be the silver bullet that takes out Trump, think it will be a lot longer process if it ever gets to that and particularly with Republicans holding both Senate and House.
