Wow, Trump is really encouraging some WWF style to Republican politicians, great professionalism of the reporter to narrate his own assault and to ask for names of witnesses.

Candidate has Russian money ties but.. he can't beat an amateur Democrat.

It's pretty amazing, don't you think, how the United States can find information on a bombing in Manchester - who did it and what the bomb was made of - in less than 2 days but it will take months or even years to discover whether anyone was involved with Russia.

During the campaign, before assurances to the oligarchs that they could trust him, Donald Trump surprised observers and won countless supporters by promising to protect poor citizens' health care.

"I’m not going to cut Social Security like every other Republican, and I’m not going to cut Medicare or Medicaid,” his website read. "Every other Republican is going to cut, and even if they wouldn’t, they don’t know what to do because they don’t know where the money is. I do."

The budget proposals released this week reveal that, predictably, he is in fact planning to cut Medicaid by approx $1.4 trillion ($840 billion already included in the AHCA, followed by an additional $610 billion in cuts) The Congressional Budget Office warns that almost 24 million people stand to lose their health coverage altogether, and that premiums for elderly low-income AHCA enrollees will increase 800%.

He is also planning to cut the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps), on which 40 million people rely each month, by one third, as well as scrapping programs that help low-income households heat their houses and meet their rents, and reducing by 53% the Department of Health's rural public health services.

Meanwhile, he will reduce taxes on billionaires by approx $662 billion. They are literally taking away food from the poor, to give billionaires even more money.

#make evil banal again

This is expected to blow a staggering hole in the deficit, unless you believe the assumptions provided in the budget that it will accomplish an annual growth rate of 3% for the next decade (which hasn't happened in over 50 years; the past decade's average was 0.5%). And this is not even including the promised increased growth from the tax cuts, which Trump insists will pay for themselves, despite the Reagan and Bush tax cuts acheiving the opposite.

I'm not really sure what to make of the Russia story. I doubt it's quite the scandal that Democrats and the media are hoping for, but what we know so far - likely obstruction of justice, the National Security Advisor lying about his exposure to blackmail, Kushner's corruption - is disgraceful enough.

But what they are planning to carry out with this budget will be more important by far in determining the fate of his Presidency. Poor people desperate enough to take a chance on even Donald Trump don't care about Russia. But they do care about being able to eat, or not seeing their families turned away at the hospital with curable diseases.

The CBO predicts that if passed, the AHCA will deliver premium spikes right before the 2018 elections. So I actually think its in the Democrats' interest for this to pass, as its only then that Trump's disenfranchised flock will experience the brunt of his contempt for them. Of course, they have a moral duty to try to stop this, though they just don't have the votes.

I don't think there are very many truly poor Trump supporters - statistically, Trump voters were much wealthier than Hillary voters, as the poor tend not to vote, and Republicans have made it much more difficult for them via voter suppression ploys. But if there are, I feel for them given what might be coming, and wish the Democrats had tried harder to win them over.

But as for the majority of Trump supporters, who, statistically, are older, whiter, and considerably more comfortable financially than the average American, and who voted for him not out of desperation but apoplectic petulant spite over how the culture is changing (a sentiment older than the country itself, if you know your history) - the unbelievable cruelty that they're now willing to impose as collateral damage from their revanchist fantasies makes them truly beyond contempt.

Also pretty amazing that the politician isn't in custody, especially given this report by a Fox News tv crew that were there
At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!"

Jacobs scrambled to his knees and said something about his glasses being broken. He asked Faith, Keith and myself for our names. In shock, we did not answer. Jacobs then said he wanted the police called and went to leave. Gianforte looked at the three of us and repeatedly apologized. At that point, I told him and Scanlon, who was now present, that we needed a moment. The men then left.

To be clear, at no point did any of us who witnessed this assault see Jacobs show any form of physical aggression toward Gianforte, who left the area after giving statements to local sheriff's deputies.
until you realise that the local sheriff in charge of the case is a donor to Gianforte's campaign...

I see this guy just won't go away. Obama is with Merkel today while he continues his state paid free jolly. No wonder Trump always looks so miserable. This has probably been the worst 'handing over the reins' from one administration to another ever, and the smiling Obama is loving it.......

I think when Clinton handed over to Bush, did the staffers not remove all the 'W's from every computer keyboard?
