I personally doubt there are any definitive link of collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign but you got to admit that handpicking the guy who will be leading such a sensitive investigation looks as dodgy as hell?

The Comey firing comes after he misstated key findings involving the Hillary Clinton email investigation during testimony to Congress last week. Earlier today, the FBI notified Congress of Comey’s misstatements. It said that only a small number of Clinton emails had been forwarded to disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner, not the “hundreds and thousands” Comey had claimed in his testimony. The FBI letter to Congress also clarified some of the figures Comey gave regarding ongoing terrorism probes.

If misstatements were sufficient gounds for a quick dismissal the whole Trump admin would be on the chopping block including the president himself.

As it happens I agree with a lot of the arguments in the deputy AGs letter - I just have great skepticism that they are the real reasons for the firing
