There's quite a delicious irony to Trump having been taken in by some fake news.

Good to see another Fox anchor Chris Wallace calling out Trump over calling 'the media enemy of the American people ' and senator McCain also being extremely critical .

I think Fox had basically operated as an echo chamber for Trump and certainly isn't my cup of tea but for two of his major high profile anchors to defend freedom of the press is to the credit of the reporters and ultimately the media as a whole .

If only he had intelligence (briefings).

I'm not having this from Fox. They can't have anchors demanding freedom of the press and then turn around and feed this crap by making up a story about an attack in Sweden that didn't happen. Either you want to be taken seriously or you don't.

I think it's even worse than that to be honest. From what I understand, Fox reported on a documentary about Sweden that (wrongly) tried to connect migration to a rise in crime, and particularly rape. It was aired the night before Trump's speech, and it seems he conflated that with an attack.

I think one or two of the anchors are actually proper journalists with a modicum of integrity. It's those on the fluff chosen for looks and to kiss the behinds of the right that are a disgrace .

I'd never defend the channel it's horrendous, and I mean horrendous , although I will occasion look at it in a 'know your enemy ' type way and is unintentionally hilarious. Those anchors those and their stance is creditable even more so given their employer.

I'm not quite sure about your 'wrongly' comment........there are now many no go areas in Sweden apparently and the police and the opposition are suggesting that the government is hiding and distorting just how bad it is.......hey it's their problem, but it seems that as usual truth is the first casualty........

It still doesn't make it right. I am not condoning the actions of previous presidents, as we all had it out with them when they were sitting (as in, the press, the people took them to task). This is about the current president.

And even more in todays world where we are more connected than ever, the President complains about fake news, while he is actually the source of the fake news.
