Compare the number of terrorist plots and attacks by either side over the last 30 years if you want to see how violent each is.

The only exception to this list was JFK who was a Democrat but the assassin was a commie, so there's that.

It does go to paint a picture on which side is more violent.

The guy who shot at Trump was a Republican. The guy who killed Lincoln was an actual Confederate. Also, the parties have basically switched places since the 1800’s. Trying to equate R’s and D’s of today with their counterparts over a century ago is a fool’s errand. Don’t know much about the would-be Nixon/Reagan assassins, so maybe.
