It's still a long way to go, but selecting Vance as his running mate could be his biggest f'up to date, and that's saying a lot considering:
Has anyone on here actually read 'The Fart of the Deal'? It must be the biggest load of wham ever written. You'd probably end up in prison or the poor house if you took tips from it.
Looking forward to the debates... Harris is going to chew him up and spit him out. The final nail in the MAGA coffin hopefully.

What a detestable man. Tried his hardest to swiddle his own family out of their inheritence.

I'm pretty sure there's still lots of twists and turns to come in this election race.
But I'm hoping his ego keeps him from admiting that he made a mistake choosing Vance as his running mate and he sticks with him... Which ends up shooting him in the foot over and over again, hopefully to much hilarious effect.

Vance is one of the biggest reasons I'm so confident that Trump is going to lose. Not the VP pick itself, which is certainly terrible, but what it represents.
In 2016, Trump had at least a contingent of smart, semi-competent people in his team. You can say a lot about Mike Pence, but he's not a stupid man and and seems like an able enough politician. But Trump was a lot more steerable back then than he is now. His sole criteria for evaluating his running mates, partners and campaigners seems to be complete devotion to him. And unfortunately the Venn diagram of people devoted to Trump and smart, capable individuals does not intersect. He is surrounded by people as dumb or dumber than he is, and is supported only by people who are as dumb or dumber than he is. Which is an almost abnormally low bar.
Vance is clearly a complete idiot, but he's a symptom of a wider problem for Trump in that he has long alienated anyone who might have been able to help him in favour of gormless sycophants

It says alot that looking back in retrospect, you can now say that by comparison Pence was by far the superior running mate pick, which you wouldn't have said back in 2016.
Like you said, he's surrounding himself with people who are only going to echo back to him what he wants to hear.
Which is now coming back to bite him in the ass... That whole 'Vance is a couchf.cker rumour' started out on twitter as a fake quote from a page in his auto-biography.... And the main reason it caught fire was because most of Trump's supporters took it as fact! Dumb and dumber indeed!
It's probably believable because I doubt any of them have actually read it. And let's be honest... Vance is a f'ing weirdo, so I wouldn't put a rumour like that past him.

Pence was a great choice for Trump. The VP debate he absolutely wiped the floor with Virginia's Tim Caine.
