Not sure how best to counter all this, I think you either go after the first family or you prosecute dozens of Dems in safe Repub areas. Which is a shame as many Dems in these areas are generally of the moderate variety.

History is filled with political partisans who would happily destroy their opposition by both fair means and foul. Im fairly confident in saying this is almost certainly just another naked power move by vested interests. Very, very unlikely Trump's opponents are playing with a straight bat here. If you are trying to destroy a 'fascist' threat to the Republic you probably use all means necessary.

this argument fails when one recognizes that Trump was being repeatedly sued for cases like some of these before entering politics - even Texas had a go at him

Something like 98% of Americans commit dozens of illegal acts during their lifetime. Trump is one of these 98%. It's the singling out of Trump I have the problem with, not whether he is guilty, innocent or somewhere in-between.

22 (and rising) alleged sex crimes isnt singling out and, I’d guess, is not normal for the 98% of Americans you talk of.

The only thing I can say is that theres been plenty of Presidents, high profile businessmen, billionaires, multi millionaires and also people subject to persecution. The way Trump operates with such a blatant disregard of common sense, still pushing narratives long disproven, practices on the borderline of common decency and is responsible for the division and devaluing of America across the globe.

Ive always said if he was a force for good, everyone would get behind him, but at every turn he’s cried foul, done exactly what he blames the other side for doing without a shred of evidence, been hopelessly out of his depth, lied and still lies, and ultimately leaves scorched earth and a litany of victims behind him.

I saw a great John Stewart piece where he concluded that everyone who steals money out of their charities actually goes to jail, except, yep you guessed it. Why is that? He’s a criminal who deserves to be locked away and its really is that simple.
