Is it still there?
This entire thing is likely to backfire in 2024. I hope not, but my thinking is that it will galvanize his electorate even more, and possibly draw in some libertarian "anti-government" sympathizers who might have otherwise not chosen to vote. It will also likely be another excuse for Republican politicians (who otherwise dislike or don't support Trump) to jump onto the pro-Trump train: e.g., "I don't agree with Trump's policies but what the government did to him was a witch-hunt." It basically allows them to publicly proclaim they don't really like Trump all the while showing they're team players should Trump get elected. Same for Republican/center voters: "I really don't like Trump but we can't have the government just going on witch hunts...blah blah blah". It is more performative absolution that allows most sensible** Republican politicians and Republican voters to reconcile the fact that, in their heart-of-hearts, they know Trump is a corrupt, narcissistic POS, yet also allows them to vote Republican as a means to own the libs.
Meanwhile, the idiot Democrat establishment is suggesting Joe Biden run in 2024. He isn't gonna galvanize any new voters on any key issues...it will be another case of never-Trump voters (such as me) against a very pissed-off and well-organized group of Trumpers. I don't see it ending well.
(**I'm excluding the die-hard always-Trump voters, as they are not sensible.)
Stop watching cable news. That will clear this worry right up.
Apparently Judge Juan Merchan's daughter Loren, cuts
Nancy Pelosi hair on Saturday mornings.
I didn't think my conjecture was original to me, but I didn't realize it was so mainstream on the news either. (The only TV I watch is PL, or movies on netflix).
