Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

He has the worlds biggest media empire behind him, numerous other bii ohg media outlets, the US in particular and the West in general has spent the past forty years promoting “character” politicians rather than competent ones and what opposition there is politically are crippled by careerists / geriatric careerists who absolutely refuse to change or to get out of the way. Oh, and nearly all sides refuse to change an economic system which has spent at least a decade impoverishing the majority of electorates.

So I am not surprised Trump is still supported by millions of people; he is appalling, probably a traitor and has wrecked the country but when the people in charge refuse to do anything about him, what does anyone expect is going to happen?
A lot of truth to this IMO. There’s no doubt in my mind that a decent amount of the support that Trump enjoys is due to people who have given up on finding a politician who can make their life better, and instead will settle for one who will at least make life worse for the people they hate. Sad state of affairs really.

NY AG Letitia James seems like one of the few people serious about trying to hold Trump accountable for his crimes. Wound him where it hurts him the most, his wealth!

Three and a half million a year seems like a very cheap price to pay for obstructing an investigation that could land him in jail. I'm not sure why the AG's office thinks that the case law won't support jailing Trump for failure to comply (I know squat about NY law), but that must be the case. If the requested documents are that damaging, I can't see an outcome other than Trump's attorneys telling him to start writing checks.

I don’t think she would let him just write checks without holding further accountable. If there is anyone I have faith on maybe doing something against Trump is her. But I guess time will tell.

I have no idea what she can and cannot do from an accountability standpoint. New York may never jail for contempt these days. Someone may have to be in contempt for a long time before they jail. I don't know their laws or how they have been interpreted in the past (case law), so I have absolutely no idea. All I'm saying above is that if she could play the jail card at this point, she would. That fine is chump change to Trump.

I have not idea either, but I am thinking Mrs. Letitia does know it, and letting Trump just pay indefinite fines without further repercussions is not something she would let him get away with it ??

Assuming she can help it. Again, I have no idea. I would suspect that there are options eventually if Trump just straight stonewalls, but state laws can be weird.

Trump will stall as long as he possibly can, as doing so has implications for information-sharing with DOJ/Congress and Garland's ability to leverage Congressional subpoena power to dig where he can't in the absence of probable cause.

He's bought a new wig.

Weasel, probably.

Might have him all wrong, but Musk strikes me as one of these douchy "libertarian" dudebros.
