What a PoS...
Someone I know posted a nice tribute to Gen. Powell. She reveres military men, as her father was a career officer. I sent her Cheeto's message privately. She responded she would still support him over any Democrat.Imagine thinking , that guy there that’s my guy . He’s absolutely despicable.
This, in a nutshell, is why I no longer have any hopeSomeone I know posted a nice tribute to Gen. Powell. She reveres military men, as her father was a career officer. I sent her Cheeto's message privately. She responded she would still support him over any Democrat.
These people are mental.
I know I should be used to it by now but I’m still puzzled by people continue fervorous support for Trump. In my opinion it just speaks very badly about those who still follow him, speaks badly about their principles and their common sense.Someone I know posted a nice tribute to Gen. Powell. Hope for them? Yes, that is almost assuredly misplaced. We can likely dispense with the notion "if we only tried to understand them". Who and what they are is plainly evident. This, in a nutshell, is why I no longer have any hope
But when people on the left are disaffected by “policy” and don’t understand that we are now in a fight of good vs evil, the GOP can steal elections, and we can’t let that happenHope for them? People of the left and center will always have a more difficult time politically because of the diversity (in all forms) of the cohort versus those in the Money Jeebus Cult. But the math remains. There are far more people in the left/center than there are Cheeto Zombies. We just have to get our kind of people to vote.
Exactly my point. But when people on the left are disaffected by “policy” and don’t understand that we are now in a fight of good vs evil, the GOP can steal elections, and we can’t let that happen
the other side has no moral compass and sticks together. We eat our own and debate policy like any of that actually matters anymore
we are through the looking glass
You have more faith than me.Exactly my point.
The "hope" lies in us. No need or sense in trying to change those who do not wish to be changed and aren't open to true democratic principles. It's difficult enough to keep the left/center engaged when there are such broad interests that cannot hope to all be made policy in short order - but will in no way, shape or form be enacted by the Money Jeebus Cult.
Gloves off works for me just fine. Appealing to the Cultists does not. Fearing the Cultists does not.You have more faith than me.
In true blue states, people know enough to not get sidetracked by Dem squabbling b/c big picture there is no other reasonable option, as the GOP is so utterly deplorable.
My concern is with purple states, who have people in the middle that could conceivably be hoodwinked by the GOP, which along with voter suppression could turn those states red.
and that's just talking POTUS, gubernatorial and Senate elections. At the House level, gerrymandering has all but stacked the deck against Dems, on a national scale.
Then you have the problem of GOP Senators representing materially less of the US populace than Dems.
It all is a massive train wreck, which is why we must take off the gloves.
