Unfortunately, Pelosi et al are in the same electoral boat as the Republicans. The pressure to do something to hold Trump accountable is immense. The Republicans are dealing with a countervailing electoral pressure to hold the line. The result is an impeachment that is doomed to fail and, thus, tactically stupid.
One of the things that I don't think we properly appreciated prior to this is the fact that a political party can self-destruct and functionally become treasonous if over half of its voters become dissociated from reality. It's a wonder that Virginia isn't experiencing a series of catastrophic earthquakes caused by the spinning of Madison's grave (see: Federalist #10).

Struggling to understand his point here (perhaps because he doesn’t have one) but why is he so resistant to witnesses ?
Has there been developments over people coming forward to testify against Trump and implicating Trump and republicans ?
Tbh I don’t really understand it either!
There have been several of the people arrested who have said that they did it because of Trump’s rhetoric so I presume he would rather be able to say it ”it was Antifa and didn’t have anything to do with Trump”

It doesn't surprise me that Trump's new lawyers are upholding his lies about election irregularities and free speech as their main defense argument. And it probably will probably be enough to stop the GOP from voting to convict him.

Every time I look at Trump's ridiculously long ties it makes me think of Angelos Epithemiou off Shooting Stars.
It doesn't surprise me that Trump's new lawyers are upholding his lies about election irregularities and free speech as their main defense argument. And it probably will probably be enough to stop the GOP from voting to convict him.
I am not a lawyer and don't know if impeachment trials even follow the same rules, but I sure would like hear objections of "facts not in evidence".
I think they give everyone a test who wants to work for Trump - write a one page press release and you can’t work for him unless you have at least one spelling mistake, preferably more.
Unfortunately on that criteria I‘d be cleared to work for him lol
