Voting suppression happened in NC this weekend. No only did people got attack by the police for holding a March to Polling, that had received permission to do so. But the police arrested many of participants that were to cast their vote that day stopping them from voting.

This city has targeted people of color at disparaging and disproportioning rates for years. This sheriff was sued by the Obama administration. A federal court case was brought against the sheriff for arresting and imprisoning Black and brown people at a rate of 4 times to 1.

It depends of the state, some require ID to vote and some don't. A person must be be registered and on the voter roll to cast a ballot. In some states you can register and vote the same day during early voting, but when person completes the registration and signs it there is a paragraph stating that the signer attest to ones qualifications to vote. Any fraudulent or false information on that form is a class 1 felony (a serious charge, same as murder). So I think the main deterrent is that pretending to be a US citizen and voting when no supposed to then could land a person in jail for a long time.

Fair point, although I think, if he loses, there’s no way on Earth he’s going to just accept it. Doesn’t seem like that’s in his nature.

I have to admit that if there is one thing that have been favorable about having Trump in office is that he is a great motivator during my workouts when I have to do any punches then I am always envisioning that I'm striking him and it feels great!

He will continue tweeting division, hate and bile, to undermine trust in the election and institutions and erode away at civility in the body politic.

The GOP will need to act quickly to move on from Trump, to minimise the damage he has done and recast the party in a different light.

Yeah you’d imagine they’d have a problem with trying to maintain that core support whilst distancing from Trump. They’ll likely try painting themselves as selfless heroes who kept trumps wildest behaviour caged whilst assisting with popular policies such as tax cuts and being racist.
