Voting suppression happened in NC this weekend. No only did people got attack by the police for holding a March to Polling, that had received permission to do so. But the police arrested many of participants that were to cast their vote that day stopping them from voting.
This city has targeted people of color at disparaging and disproportioning rates for years. This sheriff was sued by the Obama administration. A federal court case was brought against the sheriff for arresting and imprisoning Black and brown people at a rate of 4 times to 1.

Belle Boggs, associate professor and director of the MFA creative writing program at NC State University, attended a march to the polls event in Alamance County. She brought her 6-year-old daughter, Beatrice, with her, in hopes she could teach her about voting and justice.
