Not really. There's a few therapeutics around at the moment that basically work but aren't proven 100% to work.
If one is deemed likely to keep the President of the United States alive with perceived minimal risk of side effects, it'll be used. The only surprise is we're being told about it.
After only 275 patients in the initial study and not even peer reviewed is a pretty big risk to be taking with a president.
