You know, touching on that, it's AMAZING that those people even commented that way at all. Aren't these the people that tell others they made it on their own with no help from anyone? Like Craig Nelson saying "did anyone help ME when I was on food stamps and on unemployment??" completely unaware that's exactly the social net they want to deny anyone else from having.

"I got mine, screw you"

The US spends close to 50% more for corporate welfare than social welfare.
That's because about 85% of Republican voters are just millionaires who have temporarily lost their money. They'll get it back and be back up there with the rest of those elite (that they despise btw) living the lavish lifestyle!

Always bet for the average American to vote against their best interests time and time again.

*edit* this may be a bit long but I'm adding it here. I was in a local restaurant/bar back in 2016/2017 whenever that HUGE tax bill was written in. There was an old guy in there who had 3 of the 4 TV's on Fox News saying how AMAZING this was for the country, he couldn't be PROUDER of Trump, etc. Jump forward to January when all those cuts for the middle class and even uppermiddle started to go away? He was bitching about how "the DEMOCRATS and their LIBERAL POLICIES are making my taxes go up!". I tried to explain to the gent that he paid no attention to the bill when it was signed and how I tried explaining to it then that it simply kicks the can down the road. And, I also tried coaxing him to see a bit of light, I asked him to explain how the Democrats who only had 1 branch of government could simply make taxes increase when the President, Senate and SC was basically in Republican hands.

Yeah, that didn't go over well. Apparently it was a deep state thing that "you just wouldn't understand".

That first sentence is pretty funny. I shall steal it and not credit you, like a good Republican.

Apparently one of the "regulars" came in one night already a bit drunk and started going on and on about how lazy younger kids were. He was adamant that a kid should be able to go from college to owning a house in less than 3 years. He has a son who still lives at home, mind you, at age 33. And even when others pointed out that his son makes "good" money(about $60k/year) and can't afford a house, he started getting more and more irate. Ended with him throwing a glass of beer at the owner and throwing a punch at the lady bartender who called him out on his BS because he said she was just "lazy" that she and her fiancee couldn't afford a house in their mid 30s.

Politics are strictly banned now.
