Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

If Trump is lagging badly in the polls come, say, mid October, is there any trick he could pull to postpone the election? I read about 'special powers' he's accrued which don't require Congressional scrutiny*. This worries me, as I think Americans deserve better than this latter day George Wallace, and he's obviously more than comfortable with being in power.

* New York Times

Wallace was (even with his pretending to be a lot more racist than he was purely to won votes) twice the man Trump could dream of being.

Wallace's legacy is at least complicated. There is at least a debate over some of his intentions and actions... Trump is just A1 (or should that be 4f?) venal and corrupt.

I'm sure you're right. Far as I can remember, Wallace won 5 states in '68 on segregational policies but later in life recanted. Might be wrong. I was young at the time.

Pretty much correct.

But the thing with wallace was that as a judge and after his presidential bid he was more progressive and opened up Alabama politics and civil institutions to african americans at a rate that outstripped some northern states and, sometimes, the federal government.

A lot of his worst actions were just to win votes after losing his first run at governor to a segregationist. Which, for my money, makes him even worse.

Mm. Brings to mind an old English saying about "There is no way of settling the question of precedence between a louse and a flea." At least I think it's English.

Over fifty years later, Trump can rely on the good ol' boys and gals to respond to his dog whistling in their millions.

Wonder if he’ll make any sort of statement to denounce these two yokels. Or will it be another “good people on both sides” situation?
