All but California are red states and many of the CA counties with the worse situation are more Republican friendly. You’d think this would encourage a deal on extending the unemployment insurance and getting better testing/ppe resources out of both Trump and GOP Senate out of their own political self interest but weirdly they are still dragging their feet.

Much of the GOP faithful have proven they will believe whatever Trump says even disregarding their own experience so why change

And at several points during that short clip he himself doesn't even know what he's waffling on about.
32% of Americans were not able to make their full rent/mortgage payments for July yet POTUS decides to rant about the efficiency of dishwashers??!!

the funny thing about this is, for the first time in a generation, thanks to Covid, the suburbs are more desirable than the city, at least in Boston.
I was out with relatives in a greater Boston suburb and they are seeing a quick raise in property values as people rush to re locate out of the city.
Their main concern was that higher property value assessments would lead to higher property tax. (the property tax they pay is already nuts).
In 2016 Trump had a lot of support in middle class suburbs, he seems to be trying to win them back through fear, but I'd imagine most are pretty happy with their suburban life right now.

Coronavirus has definitely improved the relative attractiveness of the suburbs and even rural areas as more companies are finding that remote working isn’t as bad as they may have thought.

But it doesn’t appear it is a repeat of the “white flight” of the 60s and 70s and the suburba have been gradually getting more integrated over time anyway so hopefully this race-baiting has less power than it used to.
