I seriously dont get it. The Government here get pelters, and some are warranted. But at least the British public have played their role in making this thing less and less of a problem. It hasnt gone away, and I am pretty sure that when the pubs open tomorrow, the vast majority will observe the restrictions we have lived with for months.
It just seems to me that Merica, in a lot of places, never took this seriously, thanks in no small measure to Trump, and the virus isnt going away, its thriving.

Think our government have been a disgrace as well to be honest. May was a poor leader but you’d have to imagine she’d be made for this situation. Instead we get vague dithering and lies.
Many in the states believe that the government should have as little input in their daily living as possible. So there is an inevitable pushback if they’re being told they have to do something. Doesn’t help with all these right wing nut jobs calling it a Dem hoax. Think many people should be charged once the dust has finally settled.

Like I said, they got pelters, and some were deserved. But they have never down played it like Trump has. The British public, have in general, done their bit, as shoppers, nurses, delivery lads, supermarket staff, etc etc.
I hadnt considered the May angle, but I agree. Her dull and ego free approach would have been just the job, in hindsight. And that ballbag Cummings would still be reading books about stuff all on his own.

Only because I was watching a piece about confederates the other day I got this reference. I had not been aware they had etched carvings of confederate generals up until I saw it. All a bit mad.
