But I don't think he's responsible for all Coviid deaths. I think he could have handled it better. However, I think any US president would have been behind the 8ball in handling that.

Our country will simply refuse to put money behind preparing for things like a pandemic. As will every country. Not giving him a pass, but even Cuomo who I think has done a good job. He rejected funding for ventilators just a couple years ago for this kind of thing.

In America money is stretched thin. We don't save, we don't prepare. Most of us that is, and we won't accept the government doing it. We'd rather fight cold wars. It's the sad truth.

I'd be hesitant to blame ALL those who voted for Trump the first time round. There was a lot of "oh well he'll pivot once he takes office" talk in the media etc. I have absolutely NO problem blaming anyone who votes for him a second time, having seen the reality.

Trump didn't just not put extra money into pandemic preparedness. He actively weakened the US's preparedness and response capabilities that were in place when he took office.

Pretty sure there was a study done recently that estimated that a competent, Federally led and coordinated response, allied with the measures and advanced warning systems that were in place at the end of the Obama administration could have limited US deaths to somewhere in the 20-30k range.

So maybe he's not responsible for 100k deaths. Just 70-80k.
