More than 40,000 National Guard members currently helping states test residents for the coronavirus and trace the spread of infections will face a “hard stop” on their deployments on June 24 — just one day shy of many members becoming eligible for key federal benefits, according to a senior FEMA official.

The official outlined the Trump administration’s plans on an interagency call on May 12, an audio version of which was obtained by POLITICO. The official also acknowledged during the call that the June 24 deadline means that thousands of members who first deployed in late March will find themselves with only 89 days of duty credit, one short of the 90-day threshold for qualifying for early retirement and education benefits under the Post-9/11 GI bill.

Intelligence Inspector General fired for not blocking a whistleblower from revealing information that led to the President’s impeachment and the first bipartisan conviction vote in Senate history

Transportation IG fired while investigating whether the Transportation Secretary was running her department in a way that would benefit her husband’s (Mitch McConnell) re-election chances

Health and Human Services IG fired after revealing that hospitals were short on PPE while trying to combat COVID-19.

State Department IG fired at the request of Mike Pompeo while investigating Pompeo’s misuse of government funds, personnel and equipment, AND investigating the administration’s possibly fraudulent sale of arms to the best mate of Trump’s son in law and Saudi Arabia

All these firings announced late on Friday nights to avoid/reduce press scrutiny.

But the Trump campaign is running ads calling Biden corrupt. lol

@Grinch you’ve said a few times how his “tone” and “mean words” don’t bother you... how about stuff like this?
Was really hoping for a response @Grinch-y-poo

I mean he has the right to fire anyone he likes. Of course it could be under better circumstances but he can do it. Like I’ve said, not the fan of everything he does but I fully believe he has the right to do so. No matter what president is in office
Nobody claimed he doesn’t have the right under the law to fire them. That wasn’t really what the question was. It was “are you ok with him exercising that right under those circumstance and (let’s call a spade a spade) for a pretty blatantly corrupt purpose?”

I said it doesn’t look good for sure. If it’s corrupt he will be trailed if needed. Justice always prevails (well, for the most part)
