I'll agree the VA study doesn't apply to Trump since he isn't actually infected, as far as we know. It was looking at treatment not prevention.
There is even less evidence about it's use as a preventative.

In the VA analysis (not a trial - it was retrospective chart review) Patients average age was 70, BMI ~30, and comorbid conditions were on par with what you'd expect for US males in that age/weight range. They were hospitalized but not ventilated and baseline oxygen levels had the vast majority >95% so I don't know that I'd call them "too far gone".

Trump has zero risk from the disease (since he isn't infected); there is no evidence the drug will prevent him becoming infected; there is evidence it is not efficacious in preventing bad outcomes (ventilation, death) nor has it been shown to decrease symptoms or symptom duration - knowing this it is unlikely to be preventative; it may increase mortality in some COVID infected patients; the drug itself has serious side effects including heart arrhythmias that can lead to death.

Yeah...sign me up for that



Zinc is a whole other potential "therapy" and we've barely been able to study the efficacy of a single agent let alone combinations.
And to beat a dead horse - in most cases vitamin/mineral supplementation really only have benefit if you are truly deficient.

There are several hundred posts in this thread about Trump's sexual misconduct, sexual allegations. Biden sounds like he sexually assaulted someone--he shouldn't have been the nominee. But he is, and given no viable 3rd party candidate, he'll get my vote over Trump a million times over. Those idiots who say things like "I'm not voting in 2020 since I don't like either candidate--Bernie is my candidate" are the very face of obvlivious white-privilege virtue-signalling fools. Trump's policies destroy livelihoods, particularly for those with non-white skin or those of lower income. Biden's policies will do far less of that.
