I appreciate this is a meme that is being pushed everywhere right now, but I would point out that the main offence they are being accused of - hacking the DNC - was simply to expose what the DNC were actually saying and doing. If a newspaper had done what the Russians did (edit: or are accused of doing) they would have won awards for it.

They've been meddling with the politics of other countries for decades, often with catastrophic results. Look at the history of Guatemala, el Salvador, Nicaragua etc.

Trump won because Clinton was a historically bad candidate, backed up by a historically inept campaign, who managed to waste advantages (in money, coverage, endorsements, eight years of Obama) that very few if any Presidential candidates have ever had.

The only reason they are highlighting Russian interference in the US electoral process is because it suggests that someone else was to blame for the kicking they were just on the end of; if they were genuine about ending foreign influence in US politics then they wouldn't have all just lined up to back Bibi and his brave crusade against the UN.
